A simple, small camera with powerful conflict resolution.
The essence of simplicity and reliability in compact form. The Calla camera is designed to deter and de-escalate.
Back in 2017, we recognised that those in frontline roles were feeling unsafe and felt threatened while simply doing their jobs. Those working in hospitals and in retail environments were, and still are, facing high levels of verbal and physical abuse, anti-social behaviour and even violence. Body-worn video looked to offer a number of benefits – a visual deterrent, a de-escalation tool, and a means of gathering evidence of an offence if needed. But the camera models were not fit for purpose. So we set out to design something suitable, and Calla was launched.
Today, Calla cameras are used by hundreds of organisations. Calla is not designed to record all the time, only when the user deems it necessary - in line with agreed policies.

"Our message was, and still is: we look after our colleagues."
Dawn WilliamsRetail & DC Profit Protection Manager, Matalan
The cameras have been very well received and used by the staff in ED. They make the staff feel much more confident when dealing with difficult patients. The most pronounced effects have been on patients with long histories of abusive or aggressive behaviour. Now they know that they are being recorded their behaviour has significantly improved.
Jon TippingClinical Director Emergency Medicine, Yeovil Hospital
"In my 30 years in this business this, genuinely, has been the easiest, most rewarding, and most collaborative proof of concept I have ever been involved in, and one that has just been embraced so heartily by colleagues. It's been an absolute joy. Every step of the way, it's felt like a true collaboration."
David PardoeHead of Profit Protection, The Works
